Chips have long been the winemaker’s favored method to obtain a quick and efficient aromatic extraction from red or white wines during the fermentation or the aging process.

The French Oak chips are made from 24 month aged wood, offered in 20 lb bags, in small and medium sizes and four toasts.

Also available in bulk (500 lbs) and in large size.



French Oak Quercus (petraea Liebl.)

Wood is seasoned 24 months, 20 Lbs of chips per bag.
Oak certified by PEFC and free of any traces of treatment products.

Chip dimensions

  • Small : min: 0.2 mm (1/16’’) ; max : 1.3 cm (1/2’’)
  • Medium : min: 1.4 cm (9/16’’) (maxi 2 cm (13/16’’)

Packaging :

  • 20 lbs (10 kg) bag with nylon immersion bag.
  • Bulk option: 500 lbs (250 kg)

Dosage Recommendations:
Between 20 lbs and 30 lbs stave chips per
1.000 gallons (2 or 3 grams per liter).

Contact time: minimum 2 weeks.
